Articles & Fact Sheets

HEPAC is committed to supporting the creation of environments that promote healthy eating and physical activity. One important way of achieving this is by providing access to best practices, evidence-based information and research.

Below you will find articles and fact sheets that you may find useful. This educational resource library has been divided by topic into Healthy Eating and Physical Activity.

Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is a key component of health. Good nutrition helps to protect against chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, obesity, stroke and high blood pressure.

This section provides access to several articles and fact sheets to aid in making healthy food choices for individuals.

Physical Activity

Being physically active reduces the risk of obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, colon cancer, back pain, hypertension, osteoporosis, anxiety, depression and stress. In addition to preventing chronic disease, physical activity promotes healthy growth and development in children and increased enjoyment of life for adults.

This section provides access to several articles and fact sheets to assist those who are interested in learning more about physical activity.
