The “CHEFS!” manual for teaching food skills to children is now complete, and all five themes are now available on the N.B. Department of Healthy and Inclusive Community’s website.
The themes are:
- Theme 1 – Becoming a Chef
- Theme 2 – Keeping Food Safe
- Theme 3 – Healthy Eating
- Theme 4 – All About Nutrients
- Theme 5 – Be Active
This tool kit was developed to help you deliver interactive, stimulating, and engaging opportunities around food and cooking for children ages 8-12, no matter what your background in food and cooking.
Each of the 90-minute lessons includes activities, discussions, games,and recipes for cooking (and eating!) delicious, healthy foods.
A limited number of copies are being printed by HEPAC and Recreation NB, and will be distributed to Wellness Networks and After School Hours programs.
